This has been a long week. I haven’t gotten enough sleep and should be heading to bed soon. First I wanted to talk about some things. And Sally says I am not blogging enough! So I am getting to it.
1. Should I learn how to box? Like boxing with gloves and a heavy bag etc. No I don’t want to go get in fights. It is more I want to get some muscle strength and lose some weight. I have wanted to start boxing for a while now. I have a new friend that I might take classes with. There is a gym here in Dayton that does lessons. So discuss is this something I should try?
2. Random books. I need some more book ideas. If you have any audio book selections that I should try let me know. This week I listened two a Lee Child book, two of Hemingway’s finest, and started a new John Grisham book. So the list I have listened to this far is:
My Life by Bill Clinton
The Appeal by John Grisham
The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho
Playing for Pizza by John Grisham
Gone Tomorrow by Lee Child
A Farewell to Arms by Ernest Hemingway
The Old Man and the Sea by Ernest Hemingway
And I just started The Testament by John Grisham
So if you have any ideas of what I should read let me know. I enjoy crime dramas and interesting books.
I applied for a couple of DC jobs today. I am not sure I want to be in DC. But DC is where the interesting jobs are. I haven’t been able to find anything here in Ohio. Thankfully I have this temp job. It is expanding my list of books read… or listened to. If you get a chance you should listen to the Old Man and the Sea by Hemingway. Charlton Heston reads it. Very interesting. I like the voices. It makes the stories so much more fun. Also I retain more if the stories are read to me than if I read them myself. And I don’t really have the energy to read when I get home. This job is wearing me out. And the fact that I am so tired and it isn’t even 1 am is kind of sad. Just over a month ago this would have been nothing. I would have been up till almost 6am. Now that is when I am getting up for work.
3. Nalgene bottles… I bought one a couple of weeks ago to take with me to work. I needed something with a big opening to fit ice and lemons though. And I wanted something with a lid that screwed on to prevent leaks. I bought a blue one. Well I left it at my friend’s house on Sunday. And Monday she called me to tell me that it had busted and gotten her carpet wet. Somehow when I froze it and it decided to break the bottom. I didn’t really think they broke. So this was kind of crazy. So Monday I asked my facebook and gchat crowd if I was a hippie. You see I associate Nalgene bottles with hippies. I know it isn’t a big stretch and now you can see it too
So I was kind of questioning getting anther one. I ended up going out right after work and buying a new one. This time I also bought the sipper lid insert so that I don’t soak myself. It seems to be working very nicely. You see I have been drinking water. Something a few years ago I would have told you I hated and that it made me sick to drink it. I am getting much better. I now drink it all day after my two cups of coffee in the morning. I even order water with meals… I know crazy. But I am trying to quit drinking pop all together. I am doing much better and only drinking it with certain meals. Mostly pizza and wings. Summer makes it easier since pop makes you thirsty. They are so smart in their technology. The main reason for giving up the pop is the high fructose corn syrup. That stuff is the devil. It is so hard to get away from it. Everything is fed corn. I love corn. But it is in everything. And it is one of the big reasons everyone in America is getting fat. I realize that it isn’t the only reason. But it is not helping. Corn is best right off the cob so your body can process it.
I could go on and on about food. I learned so much about it last year from the hippies. That is right I worked with them and spread their message… And many time hippies are attracted to me… I have a hippie loving vibe I give off I think. It is strange and I am trying to get that vibe fixed. ;)
So today was about not getting enough sleep, boxing, books, and hippies… sign up for the RSS feed so you know when the next blog is coming. You never know I could get quicker! Have a great weekend!
